Distance Learning Starts March 23, 2020

I am a licensed New York City art teacher; I specialize in teaching the computer graphic programs Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Flash and Sketchup Pro. And after school I work with the Technical Theatre students designing and building sets; we put on three shows a year. I have also taught Ceramics, Introduction to Studio Art and I was the Council for Unity adviser for 4 years. I created the deweymaclab website and have been using it both as a teaching aid and as a vehicle for displaying student work since the Fall of 2007.

Before I started teaching at Dewey in 2000 I worked in retail as the Visual Manager of the FAO Schwarz 5th Avenue store where I designed and oversaw the production of 3D animated store displays and 2D computer sign graphics. Before that I worked as a freelance display artist for Bergdorf Goodman, Macy’s, JP Stevens, and other retailers. Today I continue to do freelance graphic design work during my spare time.
