Ms. M Grant's Page

Hello! My name is Michelle Grant, and I am an Algebra 1 and Numeracy Intervention teacher of the dedicated Mathematics team at John Dewey High School. My journey as an Algebra 1 teacher has been deeply influenced by my commitment to cultural responsiveness and equity in education.

John Dewey High School is the perfect place to put my beliefs into action. My approach to teaching Algebra 1 goes beyond the numbers and equations; I strive to create a classroom environment that celebrates the diverse backgrounds of my students. I believe that everyone's unique cultural experiences enrich the learning process. In my classroom, it's not just about solving equations; it's about connecting math to the real world and the diverse lives of my students. I aim to empower my students with not only mathematical knowledge but also the critical thinking skills and confidence they need to succeed in life. Every day, I am inspired by the incredible potential of the young minds I have the privilege to teach. I am committed to fostering a space where every student feels heard, valued, and encouraged to excel. Together, we are not just learning Algebra 1; we are discovering the power of education to shape a brighter, more inclusive future.

I am excited to continue my journey as an Algebra 1 teacher, guiding my students toward success and equipping them with the skills they need to thrive in their future endeavors. John Dewey High School is not just a place of education; it's a place where we embrace and celebrate the rich tapestry of humanity that defines our community.
