dances, trips, athletic events, senior activities, and other extracurricular functions. A student will be
considered academically ineligible if:
● The student is failing two (2) or more classes at the time eligibility is reviewed.
Academic eligibility will be checked prior to ticket sales and again before the event. Students may regain
eligibility if their grades improve before the final review.
Participation in school events is a privilege. All students’ disciplinary records will be reviewed before
approval is granted for attendance at any John Dewey High School‑sponsored event.
A student may be denied participation if their disciplinary history includes:
● Major behavioral incidents
● Repeated violations of the Code of Conduct
● Recent suspensions or other serious disciplinary actions
Final eligibility decisions rest with school administration.
