Dr. Gershowitz

Hello! My name is Dr. Gershowitz, and I’m excited to begin my 10th year at John Dewey High School. I have been working with students for more than 20 years, and helping them grow as readers and writers is one of my greatest joys.

This year, I’ll be teaching students the skills and strategies they need to strengthen their reading and writing, with a focus on building confidence and success both in and out of the classroom.

When I’m not at school, I live on Long Island with my wife, our two cats, and two dogs. I enjoy binge-watching my favorite shows on streaming and try to do weight training a few times a week to stay active.

I’m looking forward to a great year of learning and growth together!
