Guidance Department
The JDHS Guidance Program promotes student academic success and career development while ensuring personal and social growth through collaboration with teachers, administration, parents, community resources and, of course, our students.
Students are assigned to a Guidance Counselor based on their JDHS Academy or Department (Special Education or English as a New Language). Our Guidance Counselors are trained to address students’ academic, social/emotional, and developmental needs. This also includes working with the JDHS College and Career Guidance team members who provide additional advice and support surrounding post-secondary plans.
Parents/Guardians are always welcomed to meet with their child’s counselor during the school day. An appointment is always appreciated as this will provide time for your child's counselor to be prepared for your meeting and dedicate time to address your concerns, questions, or issues.
