Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year!

Your Parent Teacher Association (PTA) welcomes our students and families back to school! We are hoping everyone enjoyed the summer months and filled it with whatever made you happy. We are committed to our scholars and strive to enhance their educational and extracurricular experiences. To reach this goal, the PTA provides support through various fundraisers, workshops and of course, business meetings. The money raised during the school year enables us to support the school community, activities and events.

Last school year, we held several successful fundraisers most notably, our PTA Snack Sales which took place during the school day on select short Thursdays. The money raised allowed us to thank every teacher, staff and school safety officer with gifts during Appreciation Week; we sponsored Senior Awards Night with refreshments; and we handed out scholarship awards to three Dream Catchers at graduation. This year, we plan to add a 4-day e-fundraiser so we can continue to show our appreciation to our educators and our pride for our students. We need your support and participation in these fundraising efforts.

The PTA is asking for your support in considering your annual donation of at least $10 per family. Membership donations help us reach our annual financial goal. It allows us to consider making contributions to the various teams and clubs here at John Dewey...of which there are over 50!  For your convenience, donations can be sent to us via Zelle @ [email protected] OR via donation envelopes given to your scholar to be handed to Mrs. Gattuso in Room 168.

The work of the E-Board continued through the summer so that we were able to hit the ground running for the start of the 2023-24 school year. With over 2,200 scholars, PTA participation is vital. Attend our monthly meetings, which are held virtually on the 2^nd Wednesday of each month at 6:00pm and consider joining us at in-person events as we work together towards a common goal!
